Canton Township Police Department Sgt. Joe Keimig, Ofc. Jeff Seifert, and Ofc. Brian Zinser were awarded the Medal of Valor by the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police at the 2025 summer conference. The Medal of Valor recognition is reserved for those who exhibit extraordinary courage and selflessness in the face of danger, display bravery, quick decision-making, and unwavering commitment to protecting the public, a spokesman explained. “Each of their efforts reflects the very best of our department and the law enforcement profession as a whole,” commented Police Chief Chad Baugh. “Their actions not only saved lives but also brought great credit to themselves, their families, and the entire department,” he added.
