Several reappointments to boards and commissions in Westland were recently approved by members of the city council.
Gretchen Heinicke has been reappointed to serve on the Economic Development Corporation (EDC)/Tax Increment Finance Authority (TIFA)/Brownfield Redevelopment Authority (BRA) for a new 6-year term set to expire in February 2028. Heinicke is the current President and CEO of the Westland Chamber of Commerce.
John Sullivan has been reappointed to the Local Development Finance Authority (LDFA) for a 4-year term set to expire in February 2026. Sullivan is a local attorney and also served as Wayne County Commissioner from 1999 until 2007.
Robert Farsakian has also been reappointed to the LDFA for a new 4-year term. Farsakian has served on the LDFA since 2002. He has been a resident of Westland for more than 30 years and is the owner of Rock of Ages in Garden City.
Ralph Cabildo has been reappointed to the Downtown Development Authority for a new 4-year term to expire February 2026. A Westland resident for more than 45 years, Cabildo's business, RC DJ and Video Productions, has been a member of the Chamber of Commerce since 2003.
Judy McKinney and Ray Schuholz have both been reappointed by Mayor William R. Wild to serve on the Disability Concerns Committee for terms which began in January 2022. Each will serve a 3-year term which will expire in January 2025.
