Police from Canton Township, Northville Township, Novi, Farmington Hills, West Bloomfield and Oakland County arrested seven people last Tuesday in connection with the theft of 16 new Ford Bronco Raptors valued at a combined $1,760,000. from a factory lot in Canton Township and locations in Dearborn and Woodhaven. 

Officers from the Canton Township Police Department Special Operations Group began the investigation in October 2022, following reports of the thefts from a Ford lot in the township. During the investigation, officers discovered related Bronco thefts from locations in Dearborn and Woodhaven.

The Canton investigation resulted in the recovery of 10 stolen Ford Bronco Raptors from locations in Northville, Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, Texas, Arizona and Alaska. Police also recovered five additional stolen vehicles which were models other than Broncos, an AR pistol, and $28,426 in suspected cash proceeds from the sale of stolen vehicles.

The seven suspects were arraigned on various felony charges before Judge James Plakas at the 35th District Court last Wednesday. 

Charged were Miguel Santiago, 19, of Troy, who is charged with conducting a criminal enterprise and nine counts of receiving and concealing stolen property worth $20,000 or more.

Also charged was Oliaran Pernell, 20, of Detroit, who also faces charges of conducting a criminal enterprise and 10 counts of receiving and concealing stolen property worth $20,000 or more. 

Samir Rashed, 21, of Northville, is charged with conducting a criminal enterprise and nine counts of receiving and concealing stolen property worth $20,000 or more. 

Julian Lyles, 19, of Detroit, is charged with conducting a criminal enterprise and eight counts of receiving and concealing stolen property worth $20,000 or more.

Bond for Santiago, Pernell, Rashed, and Lyles was set at $100,000 or 10 percent with home confinement and a GPS tether. 

Dominick Dumont, 19, of Northville, was charged with conducting a criminal enterprise and one count of receiving and concealing stolen property worth $20,000 or more. His bond was set at $50,000 with a home confinement tether.

Abdulfattah Hamed, 21, of Van Buren Township, is charged with one count of receiving and concealing stolen property worth $20,000 or more. His bond was set at $10,000 with a home confinement tether.

Janisse Moss, 19, of Lincoln Park, is charged with conducting a criminal enterprise and 10 counts of receiving and concealing stolen property worth $20,000 or more. Her bond was set at $1 million with a GPS tether.


Conducting a criminal enterprise is a 20-year felony and receiving and concealing stolen property worth $20,000 or more is a 10-year felony. The next court date for all seven suspects is scheduled for Aug. 25.
