3 arrested, charged in fatal shooting of teen

Three teens have been arrested and charged in the shooting of a Novi man riding a bicycle in Westland June 7.
According to Westland police, officers were called to the area of Grand Traverse and Missaukee Court at about 8:55 p.m. Sunday, June 7. When they arrived at the corner, officers discovered 17-year-old Robert Edward Bigham of Novi who had apparently suffered gunshot wounds. Despite officers efforts to revive the teen, he died at the scene, according to police reports.
Following an intensive investigation, Westland police located and arrested 18-year-old Duan Markeith Jones of Westland on Monday, June 8. 
Jones was arraigned in 18th District Court in front of Judge Sandra Cicirelli on charges of homicide - murder first degree - premeditated;  weapons - discharge from a vehicle causing death;  tampering with evidence - criminal case punishable by more than 10 years, and three counts of felony firearm.
Jones was remanded to jail without bond and is scheduled to appear back at the 18th District Court for a probable cause conference today, June 18.

Also arrested June 8 in connection with the death of Bigham was Sarah Jean Jones-Moody, 17, of Wayne.  Jones-Moody was arraigned in front of Cicirelli on charges including; accessory after the fact to a felony, and felony firearm.  Jones-Moody was given a bond of $75,000 or 10 percent and will be required to be fitted with a GPS tether if bonded.  Jones-Moody is also scheduled to appear back at the 18th District Court for a probable cause conference today, June 18.
Police also arrested Timothy Dywerr Stevenson, Jr., of Detroit, June 8 in connection to the homicide. Stevenson was arraigned in front Cicirelli on charges including larceny from a person and tampering with evidence.  Stevenson was assigned a bond of $20,000 cash and will be required to be fitted with a GPS tether if bonded.  Stevenson, too, is scheduled to appear back at the 18th District Court for a probable cause conference today, June 18.
