Marijuana information meeting is scheduled

The City of Inkster will host a free cannabis workshop and conference on Saturday.

The workshop, hosted by attorney Soujoud Hamade and the City of Inkster, is for educational purposes only and will not offer legal advice and will not create an attorney-client relationship, officials said.

Hamade is the Founder of HNH Law Group, a Dearborn Heights law firm with a focus on assisting businesses, start-ups, and non-profits, ranging from their formation to their long-term compliance needs and strategic planning. The firm specializes in cannabis law, business law, property and real estate law, contract law, and laws affecting nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations.

She began her legal career at Dykema Gossett, where she was an associate member of the Government Policy Practice Group and focused on election, campaign finance, and lobby law; cannabis licensing; immigration law; energy law; and laws impacting nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations.

The conference is an effort to educate the residents of the city and others about the state regulations regarding cannabis licensing. The city licensing permit process, the business of cannabis, opportunities in the industry and other related topics will be discussed, officials said.

The event is scheduled to take place from noon until 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 5 at Inkster City Hall, 26215 Trowbridge in Inkster.
