Howl at the Moon event planned at Canton Dog Park

The Canton Dog Park will be the site of a howlin' good time during the Howl at the Moon event set for 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5. The free event will take place at the park located on Denton Road, just north of Cherry Hill Road in Canton.
Dog owners along with their four-legged friends can enjoy live entertainment, purchase merchandise, and receive free giveaways from local pet supply and service vendors, while supplies last.

“We look forward in seeing dog owners and their pets participate in this fun-filled event,” said Laura Mortier, recreation specialist. “It is designed to bring together the dog community for a night of playing and socializing, while enjoying the fall festivities.”
This annual event encourages participants of all ages to come with their dogs dressed up in Halloween-themed costumes for a chance to win prizes. Both members of the dog park and non-members can allow their dogs experience this off-leash dog park event that is designed to give owners the opportunity to learn about the Canton Dog Park, meet other pet owners, and give their dogs the opportunity to become more socialized.
No pre-registration required for this event. Non-dog park members must show proof of up-to-date vaccination for rabies and DHLLP, signed by an accredited veterinarian, in order to attend this event.
The Canton Dog Park provides 6 acres of fenced-in, outdoor space for dogs to run and play off-leash, with specific rules to help ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone. The park is divided into a large dog section for animals over 20 pounds, and a small dog section for animals under 20 pounds. Annual memberships for the Canton Dog Park are $25 for Canton residents and $50 for non-residents. These yearly membership fees cover up to three dogs per family. All licensed dogs must be at least 4 months old and up-to-date on all required shots.
