Trick or Feet, Walk & Roll event planned

A Halloween-themed event providing a spooktacular kickoff to fall and fun for the whole family is set for Oct. 6 at Maybury State Park in Northville.
The annual Trick or Feet, Run Walk & Roll will include a live DJ, refreshments, face painting, temporary tattoos, pumpkin painting, and a magician to entertain younger visitors. Visitors can enter one of four costume contests to win prizes: Best Individual Costume, Best Group Costume (3-8 people), Best Kid Costume (age 12 and under), and Cutest Furry Friend. Dogs on leashes are welcome to attend.

The National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM) is supporting the more than 300 runners and walkers expected at the event during which participants can choose a 5k or 10k course while children 12 and younger can do a ¼ mile Mini-Monster Dash. The race begins promptly at 10 a.m. and the ¼ Mile Mini-Monster Dash begins at 11:30 a.m. Registration is $35 for the 5k, $45 for the 10k, and $10 for the Mini-Monster Dash. Participants can register before the event online at www.nkfm.org/TrickorFeet or on the day of the event from 9-10 a.m.
All race participants receive a t-shirt and finishing medal. The top three male and female runners in each age group will also receive awards. A recreational passport is required to enter the state park. For more information, visit www.michigan.gov/recreationpassport. Recreational passports can be purchased at the Eight Mile Road entrance to Maybury State Park.
“Our Trick or Feet! Goal this year is to raise $25,000 to prevent and fight kidney disease,” said Kathy McGrath, NKFM development specialist. “Come celebrate fall with family and friends in a fun atmosphere at the beautiful Maybury State Park. We encourage everyone in the community to join us!”
HAP will again be the presenting sponsor of the 2019 Trick or Feet! Additional sponsors include the Henry Ford Transplant Institute, Greenfield Health Systems, American Renal Associates, and the University of Michigan Transplant Center.
