Canton Township reporting 76 cases of coronavirus

At last report from the office of Canton Township Supervisor Pat Williams, there were 78 confirmed coronavirus cases in the community on March 26.
Williams suggested on the township website that anyone who believes they need to be tested for COVID-19 (coronavirus), follow the advice of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). The agency recommends patients contact their healthcare provider to discuss symptoms. The MDHHS also has a hotline for coronavirus questions: 1-888/535-6136. This number will be answered daily from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

All Canton Township facilities are closed to the public until at least April 14, Williams emphasized. All critical and emergency services continue to operate with full staffing. The closures do not affect any police or fire services, including 911. Collection of trash will continue as scheduled.
Water bills can be paid by mail to P.O Box 87680, Canton MI, 48188; the drop box located outside the main entrance to the Canton Administration Building, by phone 1-833-697-1711, and online at www.canton-mi.org/979. However, late fees will not be assessed for March and April water bills as long as full payment is received by Friday, May 29.  Do not place cash payments in the drop box.
“The Canton leadership team continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation, and would like to remind residents about the importance of social distancing. We all need to work together and look out for each other's health and safety,” Williams stated on the website.
Williams added that Meals on Wheels helps homebound seniors who are unable to prepare their own meals. '”It can be an absolutely essential service for many older adults-providing a hot meal, a friendly visitor and someone to check in on them every weekday, especially during this time.”
