Following Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's orders, the physical building of the Plymouth District Library is closed at this time.
That isn't stopping hundreds of folks from coming to the library every day for books, movies, music and more all downloadable with a library card. Library policies have been modified to make increased online content available for cardholders.
Those who live or work in the City of Plymouth are eligible for a library card. Go to plymouthlibrary.org and click on How Do I Get a Library Card? The library is processing card applications every day and a staff member usually responds with library card and PIN number within 24 hours, according to a prepared statement from the library.
For any library users who had their borrowing privileges suspended - these suspensions have been lifted for the duration of the library closure.
There are thousands of online offerings available through the library on Overdrive, Hoopla, Kanopy and Flipster. Ebooks and audiobooks, magazines, movies, television shows, graphic novels, music - all available for all age groups. Under normal circumstances, there are some limits set on some of the online products. During the closure, however, these limits have all been expanded.
