All Northville Township parks, including the soccer, baseball and lacrosse fields have been closed in response to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's executive order to Stay Home Stay Safe. The fields, courts, playgrounds, equipment and the dog parks will be closed at least until that order is listed, officials said in a prepared statement.
Paths and walkways will remain open for walking, bike riding and
running but require that users follow the social distancing guidelines and remain at least 6-feet apart from one another. Parks and recreation officials said the policy would be re-evaluated as the governor' order was lifted.
Signs will be posted at each park location and the public is urged to monitor and ensure that everyone is adhering to the guidelines.
“We do not want
our first responders to have to devote valuable lifesaving time monitoring parks, playgrounds and athletic fields,” officials said.
