Maybury Farm Corn Maze open until Oct. 30

Intrepid fall enthusiasts only have two more weekends to enjoy the Maybury Farm Corn Maze.

The 10-acre maze opened to the public earlier this month and will continue to entertain and bewilder visitors until Oct. 30. This year, advance tickets will be available for the maze although, as usual, reservations are not required.

Maybury officials said the maze this year promises to be one of the best with 10 acres of thick, lush corn that features a brand-new design created by the Ford IT Design Group.  The design will present a challenge to adults and children both, a Maybury spokesman said, and will again this year include a scavenger hunt.

A 1-acre mini-maze, part of the 10-acre field, will take an estimated to 20 minutes to complete for those who are not brave enough for the larger challenge. Organizers said it will take about an hour to an hour and a half to complete the larger maze this year. For those looking for something even more challenging, the maze can be even more difficult under moonlight. For those brave enough, the maze will be open until 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturdays and until 7 p.m. on Sundays. The last wagon leaves for the maze about one hour before closing.

The maze is sponsored this year by Community Financial Credit Union, Blackwell Ford, and GEM Asset Management.

When visitors have found their way through the maze, they can visit the Maybury Farm General Store to enjoy fresh, delicious Parmenter's cider and donuts, along with other treats and gifts available for purchase.

The Maybury Farm Corn Maze is open from 5 until 8 p.m. Fridays; from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturdays and from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Sundays. Admission to the corn maze is $13 per person and includes a tractor-drawn wagon ride to the maze, where visitors can enjoy the peace of the farm. Children younger than 2 are admitted at no cost. Maybury Farm is operated by the Northville Community Foundation; this fundraiser helps raise funds to feed the animals and support the work of the farm. The mission of Maybury Farm is to connect the community to animals and agriculture.
