Chilling the vile pits township against city firefighters
It will be a heated competition when firefighters from Northville Township defend their title as the best chili cooks in town against their archrivals from the City of Northville Fire Department Feb. 25.
The annual event, Chili'in the Ville, is planned for 1 until 5 p.m. Feb. 25 when cooks from the two fire departments, along with several local restaurants, offer their very best chili recipes in an effort to win the title. In addition to the chili contest, there will be zoo animal ice sculptures on display throughout downtown, organizers said.
In addition to the fire department cooks, restaurant competitors this year include 2021 defending professional champion Browndog Barlor & Restaurant along with Center Street Grill; The Exchange Bar & Grill; Garage Grill & Fuel Bar; Lava Grille Northville; The Little Salumi; Lucy & The Wolf; North Center Brewing; Northville Sports Den; Sweet Brew N' Spice Café; Table 5, 126 E. Main St.; Toria and Tuscan Café.Ice sculptures have been sponsored by Center Street Grill where there will be a live carving demonstration; Center Street Wealth Strategies; Dancing Eye Gallery; K & B Jewelers; Lucy & The Wolf; Orin Jewelers; Sweet Brew N' Spice; Table 5 and Tuscan Café, where there will also be a live carving demonstration.
Tickets are available to purchase in sets of eight for $10. Each ticket provides a sample-size portion of chili from participating businesses. To purchase tickets, visit Mod Market online, or at 150 Mary Alexander Court, or use the QR code found on Chili'in the Ville posters located in town. Tickets are non-refundable.
