Plymouth-Canton Community Schools superintendent Dr. Monica L. Merritt has been named as the 2023 Superintendent of the Year. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist, state Sens. Rosemary Bayer, D-West Bloomfield, and Dayna Polehanki, D-Livonia, signed a special state recognition of Merritt's achievement. “I am truly honored to receive this special tribute from our Governor, lieutenant governor and our two state senators,” Merritt said. “I always say it takes a village to educate a student and I am so pleased and proud to accept this special proclamation on behalf of our entire team at P-CCS.” Merritt (left) receives the special tribute from Sen.
