The Downtown Development Authority is sponsoring a ShopLocalShopCanton photo contest throughout February.
To enter, post photos on Facebook with tag #ShopLocalShopCanton giving ShopCanton permission to repost and possibly publish in print. Entrants should be sure to make posts public and tag with the correct hashtag to enter, officials said.
Each Thursday this month, the ShopCanton marketing team will search and repost photo entries on the ShopCanton Facebook page. The photo with the most likes on the ShopCanton Facebook page each week will win a $100 gift card.
Officials have suggested a selfie with the business owners, a beautiful shot of an item for sale, a beautiful meal entrée, a unique angle of a business interior or exterior, a new hairstyle, a fancy cocktail, a new outfit or even friends bowling as photo subjects.
Ford Road in Canton offers 3 miles filled with more than 300 stores, services, entertainment venues, diverse dining options and offers something for everyone, they added.
