A routine traffic stop in Inkster by Michigan State Police resulted in multiple charges including suspected sex trafficking.
According to police reports, troopers witnessed the driver of a white Toyota disregard a stop sign at the Norfolk Street and Princess Avenue intersection near John Daly Street in Inkster the evening of Saturday, May 21.
When officers approached the vehicle, they observed three individuals in the car, two adult males and a juvenile female. Officers witnessed the passenger in the rear seat of the vehicle with an open bottle of beer. A subsequent search revealed a container of suspected cocaine, according to police reports.
The preliminary investigation indicated that the juvenile female was a victim of sex trafficking, according to police. She was transported to the Michigan State Police Flint Post where she was then reunited with her family.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.
