ARTober is being celebrated at the Village Arts Factory and the Village Theater at Cherry Hill in Canton Township. The one-day arts festival will take place from noon until 5 p.m. Sept. 30 throughout Cherry Hill Village.
The Village Arts Factory, located at 50755 Cherry Hill Road, will host a Youth Art Fair featuring the work of artists ages 8 to 18. In addition to the student artists, the event will also feature resident artisans from the Village Arts Factory, who will also be on site selling their original works providing festival-goers with a chance to peruse and buy one-of-a-kind creations.
Food trucks will also be onsite between the Village Arts Factory and the Village Theater, located at 50400 Cherry Hill Road. In addition, a Chalk Art Festival will connect the two facilities.
Individuals of all ages, families, and businesses can purchase a bag of chalk with a designated sidewalk square for a nominal fee to create their own work of street art. In addition, local chalk artists Tim Cory and Nick Bair will be on hand showcasing their talents as they create works of chalk art.
Festival-goers will also be able to view the 29th annual Canton Fine Arts Exhibition, on display through Oct. 28, in the Gallery at Cherry Hill inside the Village Theater, which showcases a broad range of artistic styles and interpretations in a variety of mediums from well-established Michigan artists along with some emerging talents, organizers said.
Additional activities include a range of engaging fall-themed activities tailored specifically for children, along with refreshments such as cider and donuts. Entry to ARToberfest is free.
