Wayne Road will be closed for repairs at the bridge just north of the Holliday Park building in Westland sometime before Nov. 15, according to an announcement on social media.
The road will remain closed for about a year during the removal and rebuilding of the bridge across the river in the area.
Those who live north of the Holliday Park building will need to take Newburgh Road or Merriman Road to Warren Road to Wayne Road to detour around the closure. Wayne County officials warned motorists in the area to plan for additional road time to travel in the area.
Officials said Merriman Road where reconstruction has been ongoing will be open prior to the closure of Wayne Road.
