Joshua Hill
Following a weeklong manhunt, a 25-year-old Inkster resident suspected of killing his mother was arrested by Detroit police last Sunday.

Joshua Hill, who was reported to be armed and dangerous, was sought by police in connection with the death of his 64-year-old mother. According to police reports, officers were called to a home in the 29020 block of Glenwood near Central Street in Inkster on Tuesday, Sept. 5 where they discovered the body of Hill's mother, who apparently died from gunshot wounds.

According to police reports, Hill had a verbal argument with his mother on Sept. 4 and threatened her with a gun.  When officers arrived at the Glenwood Home at  2:15 p.m. the next day, Sept. 4, they discovered the victim’s body in her bedroom with multiple gunshot wounds to her body. She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Hill reportedly left the scene immediately after the shooting, investigators said.

Hill has been charged with first degree murder and felony firearm violation.

“Matricide is not a crime that is widely committed,” said Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy.  “We are alleging that Joshua Hill did just that. We are relieved that he has finally been found and taken into custody.  We will now begin the process of bringing justice to the rest of his family.
