City visioning survey deadline nears in Romulus

Mayor Robert McCraight

Romulus residents have only until Jan. 11 to be a part of the future of their community.

The final session of the Vision Romulus - Our Community, Our Future visioning process includes a survey which will ask each resident about the future of Romulus and also ask individuals for their opinions and comments on the five strategic pillars of future development. Those five pillars will become a part of the final Romulus Vision Plan. The deadline for the final Vision Survey is Jan. 11, officials said.

The survey is available at: https://www.research.net/r/Romulus2

Like previous surveys, officials said, printed copies are available at city buildings.

The survey is the final step in the Community Vision Plan launched by city officials last year which will plan city growth through 2030. City officials said the intent of the survey is to bring the community together through engagement methods in order to identify a realistic vision for the future.

The outcome of the visioning process will be a Community Vision plan that can impact future decisions on such things as planning, land use and policy making in the city, explained Mayor Robert McCraight.

McCraight said it is imperative to bring together a diverse and inclusive group of both long-term and newer residents to share input and ideas for their vision of Romulus. This is the final survey to be offered before inclusion in the overall plan, according to city officials.

The survey is being compiled and interpreted by specialists from Future iQ. A final presentation of the surtion of the results of the surveys was expected to be scheduled later this month.
