Westland Mayor William R. Wild, left, officially recognized longtime resident William “Bill” Ziemba with a Key to the City recently. Ziemba was honored for his 16 years of patriotic and meritorious service as chairman of the Tax Increment Finance Authority (TIFA), the Economic Development Corporation (EDC), and the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority (BRA). “Bill has also served our community as a city councilperson (1986 - 1990), a Planning Commissioner, a Zoning Board of Appeals member, and he still serves us on the Building Board of Appeals. Bill Ziemba has certainly served our community with distinction in his 55 years as a Westland resident,” Wild said.
