|Former Northville resident Chloe Abbott won a spot on |
season 23 of The Voice. Abbot, currently training for the
2024 Olympic track team, joined Team Chance
by singing “How Deep is Your Love,” by The BeeGees.
Her athletic pursuits didn't stop her from auditioning for school musical productions, she said.
Despite falling short of making the Olympic team, Abbott, a former University of Kentucky track All-American, said she remains focused on her goal of making the 2024 team. She is currently training with a coach in Los Angeles for a career as a professional athlete. Her ultimate goal is to break 49 seconds in the 400 dash, and she believes that “overlapping” World Championship and Olympic years will help her achieve that goal.
Abbott's family was ecstatic when she received a chair turn from Chance The Rapper on The Voice. The celebrity rap star said he was impressed by her tremendous breath control and great vocal runs throughout her performance. Fellow coaches Kelly Clarkson, Niall, and Blake also complimented Abbot's audition vocals, but it was Chance who ultimately welcomed her onto his team.
