Some sweet bargains will await visitors at the Sumpter Community Center this month.
The Sumpter Township Fall Vendors Market and Bake Sale will take place from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Friday Oct. 27 and Saturday, Oct. 28. Some table rentals, priced at $10 may still be available for vendors. For table rental information, contact Maryann Watson at the Sumpter Senior Center, (734) 461-9373.
The Community Center is located at 25301 Sumpter Road.
The mission of the Sumpter Township Senior Center is to do all within the restraints of time, funding and manpower to provide a safe and enjoyable environment where seniors may congregate, according to the website. The center staff also acts as a liaison between area seniors, social service agencies, Wayne County and the Sumpter Township administration.
The center hosts regular activities promoting health, recreation, education and socialization for seniors, according to the center mission statement. The center provides a nutrition program at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday with a suggested donation of $3. For information about the nutrition program, or to register, call (734) 727-7357.
The center also provides access to free and low-cost transportation and travel excursions and technology assistance, WIFI and multiple education classes.
