Detectives from the Michigan State Police Special Investigation Unit continue to seek information regarding a shooting in Inkster last week.
According to police reports, a man called police at about 11:30 p.m. Nov. 30 to report being shot by a passenger in his car. The 24-year-old victim told police that passengers in the Chevrolet Impala he was driving pointed guns at him while he was driving near Middlebelt Road and Carlysle Street. He told police he was shot by one of the passengers in the vehicle.
When troopers arrived on the scene, they discovered the victim sitting in the vehicle with the car lights off but observed no passengers or other individuals leaving the vehicle. The man told police that he was acquainted with the man who shot him. Officers located the 33-year-old suspect at Glenwood Street near Middlebelt Road as he was running away from the vehicle. He was arrested at the scene.
The victim was treated by Inkster emergency personnel and transported to Beaumont Dearborn Hospital where he was treated for the gunshot.
The incident remains under investigation, according to police reports.
