Mayor reappoints residents to volunteer positions

Mel Tockstein and Dennis Weese have each been reappointed to the City of Westland Board of Review.

The appointments, made by Mayor William R. Wild, were approved by members of the city council during the regular Dec. 6 meeting. 

Tockstein is a longtime Westland resident and has served on the board of review since February 2010 and the commission on aging since 2005. His new three-year term will expire on Dec. 13, 2024. 

Weese is a longtime Westland resident and real estate agent. He has served on the board of review since July 2012. His new three-year term will expire on Dec. 6, 2024. 

City council members also approved Wild's appointment of Brigitte Jaward to the Economic Development Corporation/Tax Increment Finance Authority/ Brownfield Redevelopment Authority to fill an unexpired term. Jaward is a property owner in Westland. Her term will expire on March 19, 2023.

“I look forward to working with Mel, Dennis and Brigitte through their upcoming terms”, commented Wild.
