New police is officer welcomed

Northville Township Clerk Roger Lundberg administered the oath of office to the newest Northville Police Ofc. Mark Foster recently. The official ceremony took place at township hall and was witnessed by Foster's family and friends along with township officials.

Foster spend seven years as a full-time officer with the Richfield Township Police Department where he also served as a T.E.A.M. instructor, teaching, educating and mentoring young students on safety, responsible citizenship and positive character traits, officials said. 

Foster was also employed for five years as a part-time officer with the Davison City Police and the Village of Otisville Police Department for one year.

While completing his general education credits at Mott Community College, Foster played on the college golf team, which made nationals both his freshman and sophomore years. He then transferred to Oakland University, where he completed a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, while with playing on the Oakland NCAA Division 1 golf team. 

After graduation in 2014, Foster enrolled in the Mott Community College LERTA Police Academy. Upon successful completion of the police academy, Foster started his first police job with Mott Community College Public Safety. A few months later, he joined Richfield Township Police.
