Annual record show will fund 88.1 student radio station

The annual 88.1 record show will bring thousands of vinyl records, CDs, import only releases, t-shirts, posters and other collectables to the Salem High School Cafeteria.
The record show is set for 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 and proceeds will benefit the nationally-recognized student radio station operated by the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools.

In addition to the wide variety of vendors, the show will feature special giveaways and door prizes. Last year, more than 400 people attended the show due, organizers said, to the resurgence in interest in vinyl records.
“Some people would like you to think that music is all digital now, but the record show proves that all wrong. It's amazing to see so many music fans, from all generations, together in one place,” said Alivia Wiacek, program director 88.1 The Park.
Admission to the record show is $3, however collectors wanting an early start can purchase early admission between 9 and 10 a.m. for $5. Students at Canton, Plymouth and Salem high schools will be admitted at no cost with student identification.
All proceeds will benefit 88.1 The Park and will help the station to continue serving the community with unique programming and broadcast training for students. The record show is one of the station's main fundraisers each year, explained Station Manager Bill Keith.
Interested dealers or those wanting more information can contact Keith at (734) 416-7732 or email him at bill.keith@pccsk12.com.  Eight foot tables can be reserved for $30.
Salem High School is located at 46181 Joy Road in Canton at the corner of Joy and Canton Center roads.
