Winners of Basketball Legends of Inkster raffle named

Last month, lucky winners helped families in Inkster when the winners of the Basketball Legends of Inkster Big Raffle were announced at the Booker Dozier Recreation Complex.
Funds from the annual raffle are used each year to provide toys, gifts and groceries for holiday meals for at least 100 Inkster families. This year, winners of the raffle included:
Winners of the three grand prizes included Brian Quantz who won tickets to the
Detroit Pistons game against the Eastern Conference Champion Milwaukee Bucks at Little Caesars Arena on Feb. 20 and a $50 dinner card at Sports & Social in Detroit.

Sam Mims won a two-night stay at the Bayshore Resorts in Traverse City plus a $50 gas card while Mike Halker won the Harlem Globetrotter package.
Dinner for two at Texas Roadhouse was won by Yolanda Holmes and a second prize of dinner for two at the Texas Roadhouse was won by Corey Thomas. Alicia Murrell won a case of Porterhouse steaks from Fairway Meats in Detroit. Lisa Lewis won four tickets to the Henry Ford Museum or Greenfield Village and Monica Holt also won four tickets to the Henry Ford Museum; Trenton Jones won a birthday party blast for 15 guests at the Romulus Athletic Center; Joann Sayles won dinner for four at Mexican Village; Bernie Hugely won a $25 gift card from Mexican Fiesta as did Ernestine Williams and Jason Reed.
Dinner for two at They Say restaurant was won by Loren Claypool while Mitch Riley won the first dinner for two at the Ford Garage and Richard Perkins won the second dinner for two at the restaurant. The first dinner for two at Urban Soul went to Mike Green while the second dinner for two at Urban Soul went to James Ross. The first dinner for four at the Golden Corral went to Barb Wood while the second dinner for two at Golden Corral went to Venus Willis.
Four tickets to the Detroit Zoo went to Lorenzo Moner and dinner for two at Sammy's Cuccina went to Brian James.
Clint Barnett won a Princess Cruise and Annette Johnson won tickets to a performance at the Detroit Music Hall.
Two bonus prizes were also awarded this year.
Heather Mahon won $150 teeth whitening at the Cherry Hill Dental Center and Brenda Jooin won three haircuts at Drews Cool Cutz in Wayne.
According to Basketball Legends of Inkster founder and President Freddie Smiley, the event again this year was very successful and because of the donations from businesses and ticket purchases, the group was able to help Inkster families in need.
Smiley said the raffle drawing gets more popular every year and he said he was very grateful to all those who donated to the event, purchased tickets or volunteered help.
