Suspects sought in Michigan Avenue shootout

The search continues for individuals involved in a two-car shoot-out in Inkster last week.
According to police reports, a shootout began last Wednesday night in the parking lot of the Citgo gas station at Middlebelt Road and Michigan Avenue West.
Police said that surveillance video shows that as a blue car drove out of the parking lot, a shooter in the vehicle fired on a white SUV parked at one of the gas pumps.
That vehicle reportedly left the gas station lot and returned fire, although reports of the incident by witnesses varied.  Other customers in the lot were reportedly ducking for cover from the gunfire.
Police officers instigated pursuit of the vehicles.
The blue car was found in a nearby neighborhood and one person arrested, according to police reports. Several guns were reportedly confiscated as the suspect was taken into custody.
Police searched the nearby neighborhood for the other individuals involved in the shooting and asked residents to stay inside as the manhunt continued.
Officers were also contacting hospitals about any possible patients seeking treatment for gunshot wounds.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Inkster Police Department at (313) 563-9850.
