Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Anthony Kesteloot, 25, with murder in the death of Olivia Rossi, 23, of Westland.
Rossi's body was found Aug. 23, 2019 in a creek at Hines Park after officers were directed to the site by Kesteloot. The defendant was reportedly the last person to see Rossi, having picked her up in his truck at her home at about 10 p.m. Aug. 18, 2019.
Prosecutors allege that Kesteloot and Rossi went to his home on the in the 29150 block of Manchester in Westland where she died.
Kesteloot was charged Aug. 26, 2019 with disinterment of a dead body, obstruction of justice, removing a dead body, failure to report a dead body and tampering with evidence in a criminal case. At his arraignment, Kesteloot was given a $100,000 cash/surety bond and he has remained housed in the Wayne County Jail since that court date.
Kesteloot was arraigned on the murder charge by video last Tuesday before 18th District Court Judge Sandra Cicirelli. He was scheduled for a preliminary examination on the charges Jan. 30. That court appearance is also scheduled before Cicirelli.
