in Wayne last November.
Small Business Saturday was a success in Wayne according to officials from Wayne Main Street, organizers of the event.
Small Business Saturday is a national effort to promote shopping locally from small, independent merchants and took place Nov. 30 last year. Businesses throughout the downtown Wayne district welcomed customers, the spokesman noted. The kick off event took place at Karma Coffee & Kitchen where more than 100 shoppers received free coffee and tote bags as well as a random gift card from a local business in each bag.

This year, Wayne Main Street partnered with the State Wayne Theatre and Jack Demmer Ford on A Visit with Santa which took place at the State Wayne Theatre. Children had the opportunity to visit with St. Nick and get a free photo with the man in red.
Leslie Herber was the winner of a $200 gift card to Helium Studio, her favorite downtown Wayne shop.  To win the gift card, shoppers submitted a photograph of their local downtown Wayne business receipt taken on Small Business Saturday. Herber's entry was drawn from more than 30 receipts.
“Thank you, Wayne Main Street! I am so appreciative of this, and I can't wait to go shopping at Helium Studio,” Herber said.
