Art House virtual ‘Chalk Festival’ is under way


The Northville Art House will host the virtual 2020 Chalk Festival until 4 p.m. June 19. Artists of all ages are encouraged to transform their neighborhood sidewalks and driveways into chalk art filled with color and imagination using dry, wet, and/or spray chalk. More than $350 in prizes will be awarded to four winners through juried and public selections in each division, Children ages up to 12 and Teen and Adult, ages 13 and older.

Public voting in the family-friendly competition will take place on forms available on the Northville Art House Event website http://www.northvillearthouse.org/chalkfestival and social media page beginning at 10 a.m. June 20 and ending at 4 p.m. June 21. Winners will be notified by email at noon Monday, June 22.
Registration fee is $5 for the first artist and $3 for each additional artist with up to five artists on a single-entry form. A limited supply of chalk will be available for curbside pick-up at the Northville Art House, 215 W. Cady St. from 10 a.m. until noon June 1. All proceeds are directed to artist prizes and public education programs.
