Training officer

Kristen Romac has accepted the newly-created role of Professional Standards and Training Officer for the Northville Township Police Department. This position is dedicated to supporting state and national accreditation programs, evaluating department processes and developing training aligned with best practice standards. Romac joined the Northville Township Police Department in 2004 and since that time, has been dedicated to supporting the agencies continuous improvement, a  spokesman noted. She serves as a departmental instructor in the disciplines of firearms, defensive tactics, conductive energy weapons, R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) and as a field training officer. Romac was named Northville Township Police Officer of the Year in 2016 for her contributions to establish best practice policies and training related to use of force. She is also a member of the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association.
