Onward

Free Movie in the Park planned in Canton Aug. 28

Like a blast from the past, Canton Leisure Services will host a free Movie in the Park, on Saturday, Aug. 28, at the Heritage Park Amphitheater.

The fun is set to begin at 6 p.m. with outdoor entertainment and the movie, fan-favorite Onward, will be shown at dusk. 

The Heritage Park Amphitheater is located directly behind the Canton Township Administration Building at 1150 S. Canton Center Road. While the event is free to attend, pre-registration is required. Sign up today at www.cantonfun.org. Dinner options, as well as summer concessions, will also be available for purchase, while supplies last.  

Onward (Rated PG) is a popular Disney PIXAR animated film that features the voices of Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Octavia Spencer, and others as it tells the story of two teenage elf brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot, who go on a journey to discover if there is still a little magic left out there in order to spend one last day with their father, who died when they were too young to remember him. Their journey is filled with magic spells, cryptic maps, impossible obstacles and unimaginable discoveries. The movie run time is 1-hour and 42-minutes.

The free family movie night is open to the public but pre-registration is required at www.cantonfun.org For the best seating, movie-goers are encouraged to arrive early and bring a blanket or comfortable low-back chair, as well as bug spray.
