Sumpter Township police are continuing the investigation into a shooting that took place Nov. 7.
According to police reports, officers were dispatched to the area of Rustic Lane North and Knollwood in the Rawsonville Woods Mobile Home Community at about 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7 in response to a report of shots fired. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 15-year-old boy who had suffered a gunshot in his upper leg/buttocks.
The teen was transported by emergency responders by ambulance to a nearby hospital where he was reported in stable condition.
A preliminary investigation appears to show the victim was injured when shots were fired from a group of individuals walking down the street towards another group standing outside of a residence on Knollwood. The teen was among the group in front of the residence, police said.
Police said it appears the suspect group fled the mobile home park on foot and entered a vehicle waiting on Rawsonville Road.
