Inkster seeks public input on recreation plan

City of Inkster officials want to hear what residents of the community would like to see as recreational opportunities.

Officials are currently compiling data for preparation of the Five-Year Parks and Recreation Master Plan and have scheduled a public review period which will continue through Dec. 30.

The required 30-day public review and comment period began Dec. 1. Inkster officials are preparing the Five-Year Recreation Plan in accordance with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) requirements.

When completed, this plan will serve as a guide for the development of community recreation facilities and programs during the next five years, officials said.

Copies of the draft Five-Year Parks and Recreation Plan are available for review during normal business hours at City Hall, located at 26215 Trowbridge, Inkster. The draft plan may also be accessed at www.cityofinkster.com.

Inkster residents and stakeholders are asked to submit their comments in writing to the attention of the City of Inkster Planning Department, 26215 Trowbridge, Inkster, Michigan, 48141. Persons may also e-mail comments to Brigitte Smith, planner at bsmith@mcka.com.
