Spooktacular event to take place

The Van Buren Township Parks and Recreation Department annual Candy Loop will take place at Quirk Park from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, rain or shine.
The 'spooktacular' event will take place behind Van Buren Township Hall on the small walking track near the pavilion. The park is located at 46425 Tyler Road.

The event is a twist on traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating and the loop includes various stops along the track for ghouls and goblins to collect candy and treats. The event is free and family friendly and a live disc jockey will spin eerie Halloween music.
The Parks and Recreation Department is seeking candy donations and volunteers to help distribute the treats.
Participating businesses will have the opportunity to hand out promotional material at a table. Business participation deadline registration is Oct. 21 and can be completed by calling Jennifer Wright at (734) 699-8921 or at jawright@vanburen-mi.org.
