During the meeting, the city will present information on the Wildwood Road Bikeway Plan, which includes the creation of bicycle lanes on Wildwood Road running north-south from Warren Road to Glenwood Road contained entirely within Westland. The lanes would connect northern and southern residential areas with main arteries of commercial business, areas of concentrated employment, and recreation and entertainment facilities. Westland has identified this corridor as an ideal location to build awareness and capacity of bicycle friendly avenues with an emphasis on safety mitigation and minimal interruption to current traffic patterns, officials said.

“This plan will represent the most detailed non-motorized planning efforts yet by the city,” commented Mayor William R. Wild. “We need as much public engagement and feedback as possible to ensure the plan provides a comprehensive outline of Westland's biking and walking priorities.”
