The Lightfest is available for viewing from 6 until 10 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday until Friday, Dec. 31. The display is closed Dec. 25. Due to overwhelming response to the Lightfest, wait times may be longer than normal on weekends, county officials said. "Families all over the Metro Detroit Area are looking for safe activities to participate in this holiday season and our staff is working diligently to make the Lightfest experience as positive as possible," he added.
The fee for the display is $5 per car, cash only, or $20 for a commercial van/RV/limo. The fee for a 20-passenger mini-bus is $25 this year and admission for a 40-plus passenger bus is $50. All fees must be paid in cash.
The entrance to the Lightfest is 7651 North Merriman Road, which is on Merriman between Ann Arbor Trail and Warren Avenue in Westland, 2 1/2 miles south of I-96.
During the Lightfest, Hines Drive closes to traffic for set-up and operations from 5 - 11:30p.m. from Ann Arbor Trail to Outer Drive.
