Blue Sky Ice Cream and Hamburgers hosted a three-day festival last weekend to support women and children in crisis. The Festival for Friends was an opportunity for community members to come together for a good cause and have fun, organizers said. Featured activities included a cornhole tournament, rides in the Jurassic Park Jeep, a movie, fun, games and food. The charity Classic Car Show took place on Sunday.
The benefit this year was the latest effort of Blue Sky Ice Cream and Hamburgers to support the community. The beneficiary of festival donations this year went directly to Sunrise House, a local women's and children's shelter.
Donations can still be dropped off at Blue Sky Ice Cream and Hamburgers following the weekend activities.
Also in attendance at the event this year was Nikki's Pizza Truck and several local crafters and vendors. Blue Sky Ice Cream and Hamburgers is located at 15155 South Huron River Dr. in Romulus.
