Based on the inspiring true story and
movie of the same name, “Calendar Girls,”
follows the adventure of a group of friends coming together to support each other. The plot begins as Chris decides to do something a little more than a traditional bake sale fundraiser to raise money after her best friends' husband is diagnosed with terminal leukemia. To obtain a new sofa for the hospital waiting room, the Calendar Girls must convince their local Women's Institute to embark on a novel fundraiser. After learning that “Skin Sells”, they decide to pose for an 'alternative calendar' discreetly posing nude in the hopes of raising additional cash. As the story unfolds, audiences see the different ways this causes pressure for the ladies and how their crusade escalates into something bigger than they ever imagined.
Audience members will also be able to purchase the calendar made by the ladies of the cast with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
