TLC Productions will stage a third original musical, Casting Family at the Village Theatre in
canton Township at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 and at 2 p.m.
on Sunday, Nov. 17.
Casting Family is a two-act,
comedy musical about a gay male couple about to get married. Their families are unsupportive and
plan not to attend, and so the partners-to-be decide to cast actors as 'family' to participate in the wedding. Their journey toward the impending ceremony includes tenderness, adversity, doubt, and a little bit of chaos. The musical is rated PG.
Each performance lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes (including a 15-minute intermission) and will be staged in the Biltmore Studio at The Village Theater at Cherry Hill, located at 50400 Cherry Hill Road, Canton.
The script has been co-authored by the founders of TLC Productions: Tim Chanko, Linda Pohl and Christopher Tremblay.
Chanko and Pohl are residents of Canton. Tremblay is a resident of Lansing and a former resident of Canton. Pohl also serves as the director of the show and Chanko is the music composer, director and also stars in the musical.
Nine actors perform
in Casting Family: Lisa Brawley (Livonia), Tim Chanko (Canton), Melissa Francis (Westland), Richard Holland (Livonia), Donnie McBride (Westland), Anthony Petrucci (Ypsilanti), Brion Scheidel (Canton), Jeff Steinhauer (South Lyon), and Leanne Young (South Lyon).
Tickets for Casting Family are $15 and can be purchased online at cantonvillagetheater.org. Tickets should be purchased in advance as there are only 80 seats available for each performance.
