Youth advisory council sworn in

Canton Youth Advisory Council members are eager to roll up their sleeves and get to work.
They were sworn in at a recent Canton Board of Trustees meeting and are: Bhavuk Gaddam, president; Rishabh Verma, secretary; Brahmpreet Saini, treasurer; Natalie Richardson, council member; Aarushi Ganguly, council member; Ayush Verma, council member and Hasan Zai, vice president.

In other business, the board of trustees noted the Pheasant Run municipal golf course faces increased competition on golf outings as well as banquet facilities elsewhere. Leisure Services Director Greg Hohenberger said of a proposed concept, “In practice it did not work” in addressing use and cost.
Banquet facilities are being built regionally, he added.
Trustees also noted no emergency response calls were missed or impacted in a June 19 loss of municipal telephone service.
