Westland officially began the 10th Annual Shop & Dine campaign last week and the special multi-faceted holiday event will continue for six weeks as an effort to promote the premier shopping district at the “Everything You Want. Everything You Need” area for holiday shopping. There have been multiple radio ads and billboards on major freeways promoting the campaign to bring holiday shoppers to the community.

The city has also launched a large digital and social media presence to let shoppers know that the campaign is now under way. Included in the Shop & Dine promotion is Small Business Saturday, which takes place this Saturday, Nov. 30 and is the counterpart to “Black Friday.” Television and radio ads encourage shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local. As part of the Shop and Dine Campaign, the city will once again be raffling off free shopping sprees at the Westland Shopping Center.
This year, the event will be bigger and better than ever as the city has partnered with the popular WNIC Jay Towers in the Morning Show to give away two $5,000 shopping sprees, Jay Towers will be on site giving away additional prizes and doing a live broadcast from the event.
