2 reappointed to boards

Two reappointments to the Economic Development/Tax Increment Finance Authority/ Brownfield Redevelopment Authority were approved recently by the members of the Westland City Council.

Matthew Tyranski and Kaitlynn Riley were chosen to fill the vacant terms on the boards. Tyranski is the owner of Olympic Coney Island and has been in the community for 22 years. He and his wife are the parents of three children.

He earned his business degree from Western Michigan University and was appointed to the board in July to fill an unexpired term. This new term will expire Nov. 15 of 2026.

Riley is a marketing and business coordinator for Garden City Hospital. She has spent many years volunteering in activities such as Clean-up day, Mother's Day Chocolate Events and Small Business Saturday events. She graduated from The University of Michigan with a business degree and has completed a master's program through Wayne State University Mike Illitch School of Business. Her term will expire Sept. 18, 2021.
