New Sumpter board takes oath
At ceremonies Nov. 19 at the Sumpter Community Center gymnasium, Judge Tina Brooks Green of the 34th District Court, administered the oaths of office to the Sumpter Township Board of Trustees.
Supervisor Timothy Bowman, Deputy Supervisor Kenneth Bednark, Clerk Esther Hurst, Deputy Clerk Anthony Burdick, Treasurer James Clark, Deputy Treasurer Toni Clark and Trustee Peggy Morgan were all sworn into office.
They will join trustees Matthew Oddy, Donald LaPorte and Timothy Rush on the board. The three incumbent trustees all took their oaths of office earlier in an effort to maintain social distancing in light of the current pandemic regulations imposed by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
