Records department hours change

Hours at the Canton Public Safety Department Records Bureau will change effective Monday, Jan. 4. 

New hours at the records bureau will be 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Mondays: 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesdays: 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays. The bureau will be closed on Fridays.

The new schedule will allow extended day access for the public, officials said. The records bureau is available for processing requests of police reports, Freedom of Information Act requests, applicant fingerprinting, and handgun purchase permits. Fingerprinting and purchase permit applicants must arrive 30 minutes prior to closing time.

Individuals claiming property will need to schedule an appointment with the property clerk directly at (734) 394-5432, from 8:30 until 4:30 Monday through Friday. For additional information, contact the records bureau at (734) 394-5410.
