It was an unhappy holiday for some Inkster residents last week when a man was killed in a shooting on Meadow Lane in the city.
Michigan State Police said late Thursday that police were dispatched around 6:30 p.m. to the 1500 block of Meadow Lane in Inkster in response to a report of a shooting. A preliminary police investigation found that the victim - who has not been identified - was shot by an unknown suspect in a vehicle, police said. The victim was transported by emergency responders to a local hospital, but died of his injuries, police said.
The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing, according to police who declined to release any additional information.
