A long line of food trucks is expected along Ridge Road July 24 during the Seventh Annual Rally on Ridge in Canton Township.
The event is a benefit to help support the Canton Farmers Market and will include live entertainment in addition to the food trucks lined along Ridge Road between Uptown Avenue and Cherry Hill Road from 4 until 9 p.m.
Cherry Hill School, located at 50440 Cherry Hill Road, will play host to the food trucks featuring gourmet menus, as well as live music from local artists. Event-goers who plan to stay for the music are encouraged to bring along a lawn chair or picnic blanket, organizers said.
A complete list of participating food trucks will be available on the Canton Farmers Market Facebook page the week of the event. Spaces are still available for food trucks owners who are interested in participating in the event this year. Contact the Canton Farmers Market at cantonfarmersmarket@canton-mi.org for details. Entertainment will feature the CrasherZ Band, playing R&B, dance, and rock hits.
There will also be a beer garden featuring hard cider selections available for participants 21 and older. Discounted pre-sale beer tickets are available online at www.cantonfun.org until July 23. Five tickets are priced at $15 and available by entering Rally on Ridge 2021 under Register for Programs. Day of event tickets will be available onsite for $5 per ticket or five for $20.
“We are excited to be able to bring back this annual event that offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy a pleasant summer evening outside with some delicious eats from a fantastic lineup of gourmet food trucks, as well as talented local entertainment,” said Jennifer Franz, Canton health and wellness specialist. “We're hoping that folks come and enjoy delicious eats, cool beverages, and a night full of fun entertainment.”
A portion of the proceeds collected from food vendor sales during this special fundraiser will benefit the farmers market, which is currently celebrating the 15th season. With the recent influx in “buy local” initiatives, the Canton Farmers Market is seeing an increase in both the number of participating growers and in customers, organizers said. As such, the market continues to expand and is open from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. every Sunday, rain or shine, through Oct. 17, at Preservation Park.
Additional parking will be available at Preservation Park, located at 500 N. Ridge. No admission is needed to attend the event. For additional information about this special fundraiser, as well as the Canton Farmers Market, visit www.canton-mi.org/496.
