Master Plan will determine future recreational amenities

The opinions and input of Canton Township residents will be used to help guide decisions for future planning of programs, services and amenities in the community.

Canton Leisure Services is currently seeking community input as a key part of the strategic process of updating its Master Plan.

McKenna, a community planning, design, and building services firm, will host a series of Open Houses as a key part of updating Canton Leisure Services Five Year Master Plan, which was previously adopted in 2016.

Members of the community  are invited to submit feedback from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at the Thursday Night LIVE Concert in Heritage Park, located behind 1150 S. Canton Center Road and  from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Aug. 8, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Canton Farmers Market located at 500 N. Ridge Road. Members of the community are also invited to submit comments via email to leisure@canton-mi.org.

“Canton residents and business owners now have a chance to direct where we're headed and help determine what our future plans are,” stated Jeanette Aiello, business operations coordinator. “These individuals have a unique opportunity to identify key recreational amenities, programs, services, and facilities that will help make our community an even better place to live.”

When the initial process is complete, Canton Leisure Services personnel will develop a draft plan and will make it available for public review and comment later this fall.
