Back by popular demand, the Van Buren Township Parks and Recreation department will be hosting concerts in the park. In partnership with Wayne County Community College (WCCC) Ted Scott Campus, all events will take place from 7 until 8:30 p.m. outdoors on Wednesdays and are free to the public, rain or shine.
“This is one of my favorite events,” commented Van Buren Township Treasurer Sharry Budd. “I remember picking up dinner and heading to the park with my husband. I'm so glad we've continued the tradition for our residents.”
The summer concert series line up and locations include: July 14 - Concert at Quirk Park: Your Generation In Concert behind Township Hall at 46425 Tyler Road.
This live multimedia spectacular celebrates five decades of pop, rock, dance, and R&B hits; July 21, Concert at Quirk Park: Motor City Soul behind Township Hall at 46425 Tyler Road. The mix of Motown, Soul, R&B, Funk, Oldies, modern Pop, and Rock includes songs recognized by most and loved by all; July 28 Concert at Quirk Park: Alan Turner behind Township Hall at 46425 Tyler Road. This renegade country artist delivers high-energy country music with a rock edge; Aug. 4 - Concert at WCCC: The Beatles Forever- A Short Story with Music at Wayne County Community College Ted Scott Campus- 9555 Haggerty Road; Aug. 11 - Concert at WCCC: Picks & Bow at Wayne County Community College Ted Scott Campus- 9555 Haggerty Road.
“I just love seeing all generations come together to enjoy the music,” said Van Buren Township Recreation Director Jennifer Zaenglein. “This year we have some really amazing bands that will make you want to get up and groove.”
